A few months ago we introduced you to Sasha, a dancing queen so beautiful and solar! This summer, we also met her sister Gabriella, and together they told us about themselves, and their Hair of course!
So tell us, who are you ?
Sasha
My name is Sasha and I am 26 years old. After spending several years between Paris and Seville, I came back to Barcelona, where I was born.
Gabriella
My name is Gabriella, I will be 30 years old in a month. I am Spanish, from Barcelona, I have been living in Tel Aviv for 3 years and I work in an art gallery. I'm getting married soon!
Tell us about your hair... How is it? Do you have a special relationship with it?
Sasha
My hair is everything: curly, wavy, straight, curly... it's their choice, it depends on their mood! Basically they are rather wavy, and depending on the cut I give them they curl more or less, and you also have to take into account the climate. I would tend to say that my relationship with my hair has gone through all states, from hatred (when I was a teenager) to love at last, today!
Gabriella
When I was very little I had very curly hair. Then when I was 7 years old it became straight, and during my teenage years it changed and became wavy, until now. My hair is easy if I'm in an environment that's not very humid - clearly not in Tel Aviv! When I visited Berlin or even Santiago, Chile, I didn't need to blow dry it, because it looked great naturally.
You are sisters... do you have the same relationship with your hair? Is it related to your family history?
Sasha
Gab and I don't have the same relationship with our hair at all!!! I beg her not to blow dry it, she has such beautiful hair when she doesn't flatten it and let it blow dry. But like she said, she hates it when it's frizzy. I don't care, the curlier the better!
Gabriella
I think Sasha and I have a very different relationship with our hair. Her hair has become very wavy and I don't think she minds if it's a little frizzy. It looks great on her anyway! She always looks good! My mom has very straight hair and my dad has very curly hair, so Sasha and I are the result of that mix!
Do you keep it natural or do you blow-dry it?
Sasha
I always leave it natural. If I want to look good, or when it's cold in the winter, I blow dry it and it looks much better. But I prefer to let them dry in the wind so they don't get damaged. And then I dance a lot, I do Flamenco several times a week... when I dance I have to tie them up... so outside of Flamenco I like to wear them natural and leave them free!
Gabriella
When I arrived in Tel Aviv, where I live, I always tried to dry them in the dryer, but I don't do it anymore because they become "frothy"... I love it when it's wavy, but I don't like it when it gets too frizzy! I wash my hair with a shampoo made with honey and other natural ingredients, apply a moisturizing cream and leave it on for 30 minutes.
And there you have it, our usual 3 questions:
What is your #HairTop?
Sasha
It's my family who always tells me I have beautiful hair... and who boosts my hair esteem!
Gabriella
When I was a teenager and went to the hairdresser with my mom, the hairdresser always told me I had beautiful hair.
And your #HairFlop?
Sasha
When I get out of dance class, my hair is shapeless and flattened, and unfortunately this hairflop happens several times a week! Also, when I go to the sea it's not great... one side straight, one side curly... and it dries out a lot.
Gabriella
I have several! When I decided I wanted to cut my hair into a bob and it didn't look good on me, my friends called me "Gab champi" because my head was shaped like a mushroom (because of the volume I guess)! Also when I wanted to cut a fringe and there was no way it would stay smooth!
How about a #HairTips?
Sasha
Going to sleep with wet hair. The next morning my curls have more consistency, my hair is softer.
Gabriella
I always put a little bit of moisturizer (for the body) on the top of my head, so that there are no little curls forming on my head. It helps prevent "mousse" and frizz!
