Julie MAMOU-MANI

Julie Mamou-Mani journalist, entrepreneur, founder of the production company Mamouz prod Instagram: @mamouz

Who are you?

I am Julie Mamou-Mani, journalist, entrepreneur, mother of two beautiful boys. I have a production company called Mamouz prod… And I am mainly @mamouz on Instagram 😉

Has motherhood changed your relationship with work?

I have always loved working, it's my greatest passion,

my best motivation! I had my sons quite young, so I grew professionally as they grew. It wasn't always easy, but I explained everything I was doing to them, and I don't feel they suffered from it.

As an entrepreneur, influencer, and mother, how do you balance it all?

I am super active! And I have a strong zest for life, so I want it all! I rush in, and sometimes, I collapse... With age, I am learning to take it easier.

Can you give us some tips for finding balance between your career, your well-being as a woman, and your family life?

When my sons were little, it was super hard to balance everything! There was always one area that generally suffered: ME! I often advise my friends who have young children to be kind to themselves, we can be superwomen with babies by focusing on the main things! No FOMO (fear of missing out)!

And then it goes so fast, enjoy them!

What values and messages would you like to pass on to your children through your work?

We never know what we will pass on to our children, it’s a crazy gamble to raise little beings. I would say that what works best is proof rather than talk. And I am overjoyed and grateful when I see my eldest involved with young people affected by cancer and my second wanting to be a lawyer to defend causes. They are aware of the world around them. I think, that's a win.

What is THE most valuable advice you have received as a mom that you would like to share with other women?

A Jewish proverb: "We can only give our children two things: roots and wings."

Is laughter central to your work: does it help you as a mother? As an entrepreneur? As a woman?

As everything!!!!! Laughter is serious business. It allows you to see life from the bright side, to de-dramatize any moment, to create solid relationships, it's the best life tool... In short, it's my religion!

Now, let's talk about your mom: is laughter inherited from mother to daughter or not at all?

Yes, absolutely, my mother wears rose-colored glasses, she was a hippie in her youth, but her philosophy of life is still there, of open-mindedness, of sharing, etc.; she loves to laugh and I love seeing her LOL emojis under my posts, it makes me happy.

Here, we talk about hair, tell us about your relationship with yours and your child's/children's hair?

So, a huge topic is my hair that does what it wants!! They are curly, but not enough, frizzy, even styled, you would think they are not... It's dramatic, I have to take care of them because they are super dry and I have to blow-dry them to make them silky... On the other hand, my sons have curly hair, the most beautiful in the world (yes, I am objective!)

We can't wait to hear your "hairstories": have you ever had a

hair flop?

It's simple, I have an adventurous spirit even when it comes to hair! I've done everything, tested everything, the blunt cut which on curly hair is a disaster, the blonde while I am a true brunette, henna, bangs, ...

The longer and more normal they are, the better, so now I go to the hairdresser sparingly.

A hair tip?

LOVE THEM! They will love you back!
